Kurt Kirchmeier is a Saskatchewan-based author and photographer who writes strange and fantastical stories for readers of all ages. His short stories and poems have appeared in more than fifty magazines and anthologies around the world. His coming-of-age horror novel THE ABSENCE OF SPARROWS (Little, Brown Books for Young Readers) received a Junior Library Guild Gold Standard Selection Award and was named an Amazon Editor's Best Book pick. It also picked up a starred review from Quill & Quire Magazine. Kurt's post-apocalyptic young adult fantasy novel THE SHADOW ROAD is slated to be published by Bloomsbury in the fall of 2024, with a sequel to follow in 2025.
