Jakub (Kuba) Szamalek is a Polish-Canadian author and video game writer. He was born in Poland, studied in the UK (at Oxford and then Cambridge, where he was a Cambridge Gates Scholar), and now lives in Nova Scotia, Canada, with his family. He wrote several best-selling and award-winning books, including the Hidden Web series, critically acclaimed in France and adapted into a major motion picture, as well as Inner Space, which was translated into English and French. He is also the writer behind the international video game bestsellers The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077, as well as the forthcoming Blood of Dawnwalker and Rockbeasts.
