
Carol Harvey Steski (she/her) grew up in Treaty 1 Territory (Winnipeg), Canada. Her debut poetry collection is rump + flank (NeWest Press, 2021, Crow Said Poetry series). Her poems have been published in the poetry anthology Another Dysfunctional Cancer Poem Anthology and literary magazines including The Temz Review, CAROUSEL, FreeFall, Room, untethered, Prairie Fire and Contemporary Verse 2. Her poem “Curmudgeon” won the 2019 FreeFall annual contest and was nominated for The Pushcart Prize. Her poem “praise” was featured in Winnipeg Transit’s Poetry in Motion initiative. As a young-adult survivor of melanoma she has also appeared on CBC Radio-Manitoba speaking about the therapeutic benefits of writing through disease.
