Pat is a Metis writer and author of eight books for children. Her new picture book - “Lights Along the River” - was published by Orca Book Publishing in May 2024. Her new memoir, “Swiftly Flowing Waters” was also released by Plumleaf Press in spring 2024.
In my new memoir, Swiftly Flowing Waters, Plumleaf Press, April 2024, I tell my story - from my Métis upbringing in a small town, to becoming vice president at CIBC, an author of children’s books, and helping my husband die with MAID. It’s a story of resilience, reflection and reclamation.
In my new picture book, Lights along the River, Orca Books May 2024, I tell the true story of my Metis family and what life was like before we had electricity or telephones. The story leads up to the big day electricity came to our little town on Georgian Bay in 1952.
