Biography

Shelley Marie Motz has been published by Room Magazine, Plenitude, The Timberline Review, Prairie Fire, Quill & Quire, and The Globe & Mail among other print and online publications. In 2016, she was awarded the CANSCAIIP Prize for Best Children’s Picture Book Manuscript for her unpublished story Solomon's Football.

She writes about history, place, culture, and identity from her home in Victoria, British Columbia, where she is grateful to live as a guest on the traditional unceded territory of the Songhees and Kosapsum Nations.
