BIO
Biography

"I want to be a writer."  These are the words, David first used when he started his Jungian Analysis in 1963.   M. Esther Harding, one of the first Jungian Analysts to practice in North America (and author of Womens' Mysteries), replied, "Writing down your dreams is a good way to learn to be a writer."  That was the beginning of David Roomy's unified life's work of writing and Jungian psychotherapy. He is author of several books on Jungian psychotherapy, and so far, one collection of his poetry. His master’s degree, was in a Program of Psychiatry and Religion.  These fields with creativity, on an intercultural and interfaith basis included studies of  poetry writing with The Poetry  Society of America at Columbia University.  Early in his stay in New York, he became the Associate Director of a cross cultural encounter program with William H. Kennedy--"Bill", who in HIS youth, was a ward of   C. G. Jung and remained a close colleague.  The program of cross understanding employing Jungian insights for improving communication in international conflict during the height of the Cold War.  The program involved exchange of European graduate students in summer jobs in N. A. corporations, and included Finland, West Germany, Austria, Finland and Greece. As a youth David had been President of the International Christian Youth Fellowship Commission, writing a weekly article on the back page of VISION MAGAZINE, and travelling and speaking for a year, in forty cities in the United States, Canada and Mexico. During the Seventies, and until now, David has continued his writing, linking the themes of dreaming and creating, and has daily recorded and worked on his dreams since the early 1960's.
