
Jillian is a writer and editor based in Victoria, BC. Her work has appeared in the Toronto Journal, the Fish anthology, the Bristol Short Story Prize anthology, subTERRAIN Magazine, Mystery Magazine, Alfred Hitchcock's Mystery Magazine and Writer'sDigest.com. Her creative non-fiction has been shortlisted for the Fish Short Memoir Prize, the Writer's Union of Canada Short Prose Competition, the PRISM International Creative Non-fiction Contest and the Tilden Canadian Literary Awards (Saturday Night Magazine and CBC Radio). Her short fiction won the 2025 Exeter Writers Short Story Competition and has been shortlisted for the Exeter Story Prize, the Bridport Prize and the Surrey International Writers Conference Storyteller's Award. She won 1st place in the 2024 Writer's Digest Annual Writing Competition's genre category and placed 3rd in the 2024 Stockholm Writers Festival First 5 Pages Prize.
As an academic editor, Jillian has edited books for UBC Press, the Royal BC Museum, SFU Galleries, the Canadian Centre for Studies in Publishing and academic authors across Canada, the US and Europe. She is the senior policy analyst in the provincial legislative drafting office in Victoria, BC.
