Sheila is the author of Voices for the Islands, Thirty Years of Nature Conservation on the Salish Sea, published by Heritage House July, 2024. It has been on the BC bestseller list all summer. She was co-author and co-editor of the award winning, Islands in the Salish Sea, Community Atlas, published by Touchwood Editions in 2006. Founding Executive Director of the Land Trust Alliance of BC, she editing the The Kingfisher magazine for 12 years, wrote and co-edited numerous conservation resource guides and articles. Sheila published a national magazine, Positive Vibrations, for two years in the early ‘90s. She has taught English courses in high schools and on-line. Sheila is a conservationist with over 30 years experience working with BC’s land trusts. She loves boating, hiking, gardening, and playing music with friends. She is also an artist, having worked in theatre and graphic design early in her career. She lives on Lasqueti island.
