Dan Martin is a psychotherapist living in Edmonton, Canada. Dan grew up in a family of game guides and outfitters in Northern Alberta. He worked for several years as a field officer for Alberta Forestry, Lands, and Wildlife. When Dan's writings describe wilderness areas and wild animal habitats, they are places he has known and terrain he has explored. After a career in Public Lands, Dan returned to university and completed degrees with a concentration in psychology and clinical social work. He completed postgraduate studies at the University of Calgary. During his years as a psychotherapist, Dan worked with male offenders, psychopathic personalities, child victims of abuse, as well as ordinary people dealing with depression, anxiety, or life-functioning problems. Much of Dan's work includes complex characters and wilderness settings. Themes will resonate with local and Canadian readers. In addition, he frequently writes historical fiction and psychological thrillers with universal archetypes that will appeal to readers regardless of where they live. Dan has published five novels and two short stories.
