Karen Press, who writes poetry as K.I. Press, is an Autistic writer with four books: Pale Red Footprints (poetry, Pedlar, 2001, now out of print); Spine (poetry, Gaspereau, 2004); Types of Canadian Women and of Women Who Are or Have Been Connected with Canada, Volume II (poetry and microfiction, Gaspereau, 2006); and Exquisite Monsters (poetry, Turnstone, 2015). She has also written fiction, screenplays, and essays, and has reviewed Canadian books for publications including Alberta Views, the Globe and Mail, and Arc Poetry Magazine. She has an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of British Columbia, and an MA in English Literature from the University of Ottawa. She grew up in northern Alberta and now lives in Winnipeg, where she teaches writing at Red River College Polytechnic.
