Ania Szado

Biography

Ania Szado is the bestselling author of two novels—STUDIO SAINT-EX and BEGINNING OF WAS (Penguin Random House). Her writing has been published in Canada, the US, and Europe; shortlisted for the Commonwealth Writers' Prize; and nominated for National Magazine Awards and the Stephen Leacock Prize. Her short fiction and non-fiction have appeared in anthologies, the Globe & Mail, national magazines, and literary journals. She has been listed by CBC Radio as one of "Ten Canadian Women Writers You Need to Read." Ania has taught creative writing at Humber College and privately, served on juries for fiction contests and grants, and was the 2013 Writer-in-Residence for Whistler, BC. She offers editorial services and one-on-one mentoring for writers, as well as copywriting and audio narration services for clients ranging from Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts to Habitat for Humanity International. Her copywriting has won awards from New York Art Directors' Club, Toronto Art Directors' Club, and Studio Magazine. Ania holds an MFA in Creative Writing from UBC and AOCA from OCAD University.
