
Kate Anderson-Bernier is a writer of fiction and creative non-fiction. She received a bachelor’s degree in English literature and linguistics from the University of British Columbia and studied psychology at the University of Ottawa before acquiring a master’s degree in speech-language pathology from the University of Alberta. In 2024, she completed the University of Guelph creative writing program.
Kate’s debut novel, A Gap in the Fence, was published in 2019 by Arboretum Press. Her short fiction has appeared in The Quick Brown Fox and the No Ordinary Day Anthology, published by the Writers Community of York Region. She has also recently had a piece of creative non-fiction accepted for publication in Prairie Fire. Kate is currently working on her second novel.
Originally from the Northwest Territories, Kate has lived in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, The Netherlands, and Norway. She now resides in Guelph with her husband, fledgling daughters, and neurotic cat.
