Dan Dowhal, (rhymes with "howl" or "towel") is the author of four novels, Skyfisher (2010), Flam Grub (2011), Bury Your Horses (2020) and most recently Sled Doug (2026, Parka Press). Born and raised in Toronto's Queen West district, Dan holds a Journalism degree from now-called Toronto Metropolitan University, where he also served as editor-in-chief of The Eyeopener weekly.
Dan currently lives in Dawson City, Yukon, where he is editor of The Klondike Sun in addition to working as a librarian. He first came to the Klondike as Writer-in-Residence at Berton House in 2011. Away from the keyboard, he is the alpha of a pack of sled dogs, and plays recreational hockey.
