Jean Rae Baxter
BIO
Biography

Jean Rae Baxter (née Fox) was born in Toronto but grew up in Hamilton. She holds a B.A. and M.A. in English from the University of Toronto and a B.Ed. degree from Queen’s.  Married to a Queen’s University professor, she lived for many years in the Kingston area. In 1996 she returned to Hamilton, where she stayed for twenty years, then back to Kingston for nine years. Now she has made a committed and determined move back to Hamilton. This time it will be permanent.

She has conducted memoir writing workshops in both Kingston and Hamilton.  "The Knotted Rope,"  the sixth and final novel in the Y/A "Forging  Nation" ,published by Ronsdale Press, was released in February 2022. Her most recent book, "Battle on the Ice," was published by Crossfield Publishing in 2026. She has also authored one murder mystery and two collections of short stories. Hopefully, another mystery, "Shindig", will be added to her list of publications before long.
