Martha Troian
BIO
Biography

Martha Troian, Anishinaabe and band member of Obishikokaang (Lac Seul) First Nation, is best known for her investigative journalism. She holds a Master of Journalism from Carleton University and the University of King's College, where she focused on investigative reporting. She is the author of the children’s picture book “It’s Powwow Time,” and “Today I Am Loved” (Greenwillow/HarperCollins), which is set to be released in 2028. Along with her extensive background working and leading investigative projects, she recently completed her first full-length play through the Pimootayowin program at the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre. Martha is a birch bark harvester and artist. She resides in Winnipeg and considers both Ontario and Manitoba her home.
