The Faculty of Arts at Thompson Rivers University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Creative Writing. This is a teaching/service/research position located in the Department of Literatures, Languages, and Performing Arts. The successful candidate should be well suited to teach creative writing at all levels, in a variety of areas including playwriting, short fiction, and creative non-fiction, and will contribute to a new Major program in development combining Theatre and Creative Writing.
The department will give weight to a candidate who has demonstrated experience and ability teaching in a collaborative manner. The department also encourages a commitment to networking with other departments in Arts and the community beyond TRU to instigate innovative, interdisciplinary connections and projects. This will be particularly important as our new interdisciplinary M.A. in Human Rights and Social Justice develops. Digital publication is a particular realm of interest that the successful candidate may bring to our department, in recognition of the role that technology plays in the production, preservation, and adaptation of creative arts.
