Lorne Shirinian's new collection of stories, The Darkness at the Top of the Stairs, has just been published by Blue Heron Press. The stories are a mix of fiction and memories about growing up in Toronto as the son of two survivors of the Armenian Genocide. The theme of living a post-genocide life of dislocation and otherness in the diaspora is a central element in the stories.
