BIPOC/PGM Writers’ Residency
Call for Applications
The Upstart & Crow BIPOC Writers’ Residency champions the imagination, insight and creative force of writers who self-identify as Black, Indigenous and/or a Person of Colour or People of the Global Majority. In partnership with Catalyst Agents, the aim of the residency is to create a space where underheard voices are resourced, uplifted, and given room to flourish.

The residency offers:
- A $4,000 honorarium
- One month of dedicated, uninterrupted access to our semi-private writing studio on Granville Island
- Two public engagements to share work and connect with audiences
Applications will close on Monday, September 29 at 11:00 p.m. PST and the winning resident will be selected by a jury of acclaimed writers: Chelene Knight, Eddy Boudel Tan, and Billy-Ray Belcourt.
