Learn with 7(!) TWUC professionals at the 2023 Write on Bowen Festival of Readers & Writers

HomeWorkshop or Retreat

An amazing seven out of nine guest speakers at the 2023 Write on Bowen Festival of Readers & Writers are TWUC members, and we invite you to join us on beautiful Bowen Island, BC on Sep. 16-17!

On Saturday morning, choose between "Playing with Poetry" with Cristy Watson or "How to Bring Characters Alive in Fiction, Non-Fiction and Memoir" with Julie Burtinshaw, dig into an exciting panel over lunch about "ChapGPT: Demon or Darling?"

In the afternoon, you'll have the choice of "How to Write and Pitch Your Travel Stories—And Get Your Airfare Covered" with Kevin Chong or "Stories From a Life: A Generative Writing Workshop" with Taslim Jaffer before a break for dinner and the keynote.

Then, on Sunday morning, choose between "From a Child's Point of View: Voice and Language in Children's Books" with Sara Leach or "Writer's Block (AKA I'm Afraid to Write Rubbish)" with Tanya Boteju. Explore the island over lunch and join K.A. Wiggins for "Choosing a Publishing Path" or a screenwriter for a workshop on scene construction before wrapping up at 3:30 with plenty of time for drinks and dinner, or the brief ferry ride back to the mainland!

Don't miss early bird registrations, closing on July 14! Learn more and/or register here.
