BIO
Biography

David Giuliano is a Spiritual Guide, Writer and Speaker.  He is an award-winning writer of hundreds of articles, essays, and poems.

His book, Postcards from the Valley: Encounters with Fear, Faith and God (2008), was a Canadian Best Seller.

David has also published two illustrated children’s books: The Alligator in Naomi's Pillow and Jeremiah and the Letter e.

His book, It’s Good to Be Here: Stories we tell about cancer (2018), is a spiritual memoire about his 20-year journey with cancer. In it he challenges the ubiquitous and one dimensional “battle with cancer” narrative, with alternative stories about temples, treasure, light, pilgrimage, wolves and love. David brings fierce honesty and humour to a conversation about the metaphysics of medicine and the power of story to heal.

The Undertaking of Billy Buffone (2021) David's first novel is a vivid portrait of lives intertwined in the search for redemption amidst the uncovering of dormant truths a small town tried to bury, as told by Matthew Collins – about his own death, and the secret he left with his best friend, Billy Buffone

David was an ordained a minister in The United Church of Canada (1987-2017) His academic education includes BA, MDiv ThM and a MSc. He has diplomas in Expressive Arts Therapy and in Spiritual Direction. He has also received an Honorary Doctorate. He is an inspirational speaker, offering keynote talks in every province in Canada. David was the 39 Moderator of The United Church of Canada.

David lives with his beloved, Pearl, live on the north shore of Lake Superior, where they raised their children. He enjoys Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in winter and trail running, hiking, biking and sea kayaking on the big lake in the summer.
