Altaire Gural's debut novel Forgotten was published in 2024 (Bannister Press). Her short stories have appeared in publications such as Luna Station Quarterly, Matters of Time, Kawartha Lakes Stories, and Other 2024. Her writing leans towards fiction for YA audiences, with a desire to breaking down stereotypes. It is rare that she visually describes a character, and this came about from her years of teaching youth, and seeing how character description could leave students feeling excluded from the hero's journey. The stage version of Forgotten was first produced in 2013 and has since been performed by schools and theatre troupes in Scotland, England, Australia, Canada and the U.S., and has been optioned for television. Altaire has also been hired to write several screenplays that are currently in development with Canadian and American film companies.
She is a member of TWUC, The Playwrights Guild of Canada, and the CSFFA.
