Anne Sorbie is a Scottish Canadian Writer.
Her fiction, poetry, essays and book reviews have been published by Inanna Publications, Thistledown Press, The University of Alberta Press, Frontenac House, and House of Blue Skies; in magazines and journals such as Alberta Views, Geist, and Other Voices; and online with Brick Books, CBC Canada Writes, Geist, and Wax Poetry and Art.
Anne has published four books: (M)othering; an anthology, which she co-edited with, Heidi Grogan, (Inanna Publications, 2022), the poetry collection, Falling Backwards Into Mirrors, (Inanna Publications, 2019), a novel, Memoir of a Good Death, (Thistledown Press, 2010) and a monologue, Altar Ego: Gender Property and the Cult of Marriage (VDM Verlag: Saarbrücken, Germany 2018).
Anne has worked in the writing community as an instructor at both Mount Royal University and Red Deer College, as the editor of Dandelion Magazine, a director on the board of the Calgary International Spoken Word Festival, and as a mentor through the Writers Guild of Alberta. She has also served on the TWUC board an advocate.
Most recently her work has been translated into Farsi and broadcast by Persian Radio, Ottawa (2022), published in the anthologies, You Look Good For Your Age, (University of Alberta Press, 2021), and YYC POP, (Frontenac House, 2020).
