Arjun Basu has written two books. His first book, a collection of short stories, Squishy (DC Books, 2008) was shortlisted for the ReLit Award. His first novel, Waiting for the Man (2014, ECW) was longlisted for the Scotiabank Giller Prize (and though an honour, being longlisted for anything is akin to being Pluto before the astronomers decide you are no longer a planet). His most recent novel, The Reeds (ECW) was just published and was called a "sharp, big-hearted book...grown up, attentive, and full of love" by Sean Michaels. He has worked as a magazine editor, a content strategist and creator, and is the owner of arbaStrategies, a marketing and branding consultancy. He sits on the board of Access Copyright and is a past President of the National Magazine Award Foundation. He also hosts a podcast, The Full-Bleed, about the future of magazines. He lives in Montreal.
