I come from a family of professional writers, so I was very familiar with the challenges of writing for myself at the same time as writing for work. Nevertheless, I ignored my father’s advice, pursued a degree in Journalism, and spent my career in corporate communications for national not-for-profit associations. When I did return to writing for pleasure, it was in the romance genre, although there were usually elements of mystery and suspense to advance the plots. In 2020, I published the first book in my historical mystery series and was thrilled in 2022 when Murder in Abstract (book 5) was a finalist for Crime Writers of Canada’s Award of Excellence. More recently, I have been focusing on a creative non-fiction true crime story that took place in the early 20th Century and involved my family.
I am an empty-nester and live near Ottawa, ON, with my husband and an Aussiedoodle named Scarlett.
