
Born in Montreal, Deborah Vail is a descendant of Irish, and French-Canadian story tellers. After a successful career in education, she completed an MFA in creative writing from the University of British Columbia in 2020. Her short stories, creative non-fiction, book reviews, and interviews have appeared in various Canadian journals such as The New Quarterly, The Antigonish Review, Prism International, and Grain Magazine. A member of the CNFC, and the Quebec Federation of Writers, Deborah now lives in Mission BC on the unceded traditional territory of the Leq'á:mel, Semá:th, Kwantlen, Sq'éwlets, Máthexwi, and Katzie people.
