BIO
Biography

Born in Northern Ontario, E. M. Williams (Elizabeth) has written all her life. Chaos Calling: Book I of The Xenthian Cycle is her first published novel.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Waterloo and a Master of Arts in Literary Theory from the University of Guelph. She also completed a course in writing speculative fiction through the University of Toronto’s School of Continuing Studies, and is a former member of the Science Fiction Research Association.

In 2012, Elizabeth gave a TedxTalk on women, superheroes and power. Originally intended to make her past scholarship work more accessible to a wider audience, it inadvertently supercharged her writing.

E. M. Williams is a member of the Writer’s Union of Canada. She currently lives with her family in Toronto, where she works in the technology sector.

Don't Stop Believing: Overcoming fear, stalled projects and self-doubt.

If you'd asked me 10 years ago, I would have told you that I'd failed at living my lifelong dream of finishing a manuscript. With all my heart, I believed that my dream had died.

Fortunately, I've never been so wrong. Inspiration has a way of sneaking up on us when we least expect it. Half the trick is figuring out what's happening.

In this presentation, I'll walk you through the roadblocks we face on any creative journey (writing and otherwise), how to make space for bizarre connections and why it's more possible than ever to forge your own creative path in our topsy-turvy world.

Presentation Fee(s)
Depends on the requester. I have a lower rate for schools or libraries.
