Felisha Bennett was born and raised in what she proudly calls the best city in the world Toronto, Canada. The third of four siblings and a mother, Felisha’s life is full, vibrant, and deeply rooted in family. A lifelong lover of books, she has been an avid reader since childhood, always drawn to the power of a well-told story.
Of Jamaican descent, Felisha’s love for nature, good food (especially when there’s a little spice), and rich culture deeply shape both her worldview and her writing. Although she didn’t always see herself as a writer, Felisha believes this path found her a journey guided by faith and a calling she now embraces wholeheartedly.
After the passing of her beloved son, Joshua, Felisha discovered that writing became the vessel God used to help her express emotions too deep for words. What began with sharing her heart on her blog, If The Heart Could Speak, eventually led to her first book, Emotions That Cry Out — From Grief Came Much Wisdom, a testimony of healing, resilience, and God’s unwavering presence. And now has just put of here first Children book "God was There" giving Children a look at the Heart of God when it comes to them understand loss.
Through every chapter of her life, Felisha has learned the power of trusting God, especially when the road becomes heavy. She stands firm in the truth that Jehovah Jireh our Provider is greater than anything that could ever come against us. Felisha invites readers everywhere to journey with her as she shares stories close to her heart, hoping to inspire, connect, and uplift along the way.

This workshop is a guided, faith-centered space designed to help participants gently identify and process the roots of their emotional pain. Using storytelling, reflection, and an interactive Words–Color–Emotion chart, Felisha leads children or adults through recognizing what they feel, naming why they feel it, and learning practical tools to support healing.
Participants explore how trauma shows up in thoughts, behaviour, and the body and are equipped with age-appropriate strategies and resources they can continue using beyond the session. The workshop blends compassion, Scripture-based encouragement, emotional vocabulary building, and creative expression to help each person feel seen, understood, and supported.
In this session, Felisha Bennett takes students (or staff) on a journey of emotional awareness and healing through faith-based storytelling, Scripture and creative reflection. The talk is designed to help young people identify the root of grief or emotional struggle, understand how those feelings show up in their lives (words, colours, emotions), and begin to see how they can move toward healing.
The presentation includes interactive elements: a Words–Colour–Emotion chart, group reflection prompts, and a short guided prayer or declaration of hope. Ideal for classrooms, assemblies, or staff development, this visit provides tools that students and educators can continue to use long after the session ends.
