Josée Sigouin is French Canadian and lives in Toronto/Tkaronto with her Chinese Canadian husband and their two sons. Until 2021, she worked at the University of Toronto, where she specialized in telling stories with numbers. Nearing retirement, she began to tell stories with words, mentored by award-winning authors Dennis Bock, Kim Echlin, and Omar El Akkad. Her debut novel, Our Fifth Season…where murder derails love, published in 2025 by Blue Denim Press, is set largely in South Korea, a country and culture Josée holds in high esteem. She enjoys travelling, cycling, gardening, and welcoming birds to her tiny yard.
