Judith Lapadat
BIO
Biography

Judith Lapadat, a Canadian writer, artist, and professor emeritus, has published 65 scholarly articles and chapters and co-authored an academic book. Her first poetry collection, Mixed Messages (Caitlin Press, 2002), followed a co-authored poetry book, Groping Our Way Beyond Grief (Thistle, Lapadat, Tilleczek, Transken & Baldwin, 2001). Her poems have been published in a number of literary and scholarly journals and anthologies. Judith is currently working on a climate fiction novel set in the near future. She has read from her novel-in-progress for a Federation of BC Writers Regional Spotlight and on Writers Radio. She is a member of the Federation of British Columbia Writers and The Writers’ Union of Canada, co-leads Salish Sea Writers, and is a former blogger at Dr Sock Writes Here. You can find her art online at Notch Hill Art. Judith lives in the rainforest on Vancouver Island on the traditional territories of the Snaw’Naw’As people. When she is not at her desk writing, you can find her kayaking, skiing, or being taken for walks by her Schnauzer.
