Kate O'Gorman
BIO
Biography

Kate O’Gorman holds an MFA in Writing and has served as Prose Editor for Grain magazine and as Assistant Editor for Thistledown Press. Her work, which centers on the fragility of aging and the vulnerability of those on the margins, has appeared in PRISM international, The New Quarterly, Grain, and elsewhere. A finalist in the 2024 Writers’ Union of Canada Annual Short Prose Competition for Emerging Writers, Kate was also awarded second place in the John V. Hicks Manuscript Award for Fiction and first-runner up in the former Alice Munro Festival of the Short Story Contest. She currently lives in Edmonton, AB.
