Biography

Katherine Melanie is a debut novelist who released her first novel Her in 2023. Before that she focused on academic writing as part of her two bachelor’s and her master’s degree. She is an award-winning teacher who instructs in both French and English on writing skills, technology, and social studies at the high school level. When she lived in Japan many years ago, she published with her professional organization a survival and cookbook called Japan on a Full Stomach to help newcomers to cook and shop in a country with very different staple foods which sold close to 1000 copies. She also wrote a monthly column for the town paper on Canadian culture which was translated. Her writing is as diverse as her interests.
