I was Born in Montreal. Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, certificate in radio and television animation with several certificates in sales and marketing. Author of the book: Des Poules dans ma Cour (Chickens in my backyard) published at Ecososiété in May 2020. I have always had artistic hobbies such as: writing a journal for over 12 years, sewing quilts, home renovations, gardening, painting murals, playing the piano, cooking etc. I worked for several international firms. The last 15 years as an educational sales consultant for Quebec in a large health sciences company publishing textbooks for the educational sector.
While I bought a new home in Terrebonne, in 2004, I started to learn about everything related to horticulture, landscaping, gardening, flowers and vegetables. Even more, I wanted to collect rainwater, compost and get backyard chickens! Owning a few chickens and maximize my living space and make it ecological. With so many projects in mind, I had to take time to prepare.
Over the years, I have read many books and websites, participated in workshops, trainings and conferences on various topics such as food independence, organic food, permaculture, animal welfare, laying hens, seeds that reproduce, starting seedlings, etc.
Being a hard-working person who loves challenges, I have never been afraid to experiment with new projects. Involved in my community, my adventure with chickens is fascinating and full of happiness that I want to share with you and make accessible in French and English. I hope that the website: urbanchickencoopscanada will answer your questions, the webinars provide you more confidence to start your project of keeping backyard chickens and the book deepen your knowledge. Along with all these learning tools, I have developed a new line of chicken health products: Chick’N Swell, design a chicken coop that we sell to customers and various products related to backyard chickens.
