The presentation provides information/history of the 1825 Peter Robinson Experiment which relocated 2 024 impoverished, landless, Irish tenant farmers, of which tw0-thirds were children, to Canada's wilderness (Peterborough Ont. area). The presentation includes stories and a 'push/pull factors' approach to describe the political and environmental conditions in Ireland which created a crisis for the tenants' survival and propelled them to leave their homeland. The hardships and achievements of their 5-month journey are included. A selection of photos showing current and past scenes are displayed.
