I am a late blooming Toronto nonfiction writer. Starting with my memoir, I have written a lot about mental health and addiction. My most recent project is a series of stories about young people killed by opioids, which have been turned into animated short films. I often speak about the impacts of this health crisis to the media, groups in related fields and the public.
I also write about queer history, aging, feminism and other issues dear to me.
Some of my writing is pretty gloomy, but some of it is funny. My genre has been called "queer feminist tragicomedy" and also "women who've seen some shit."
