Matthew Murphy
BIO
Biography
Matthew Murphy was born and raised in Sudbury, Ontario, and now lives in Montreal. Margaret Atwood deemed his debut novel, A Beckoning War (Baraka Books, 2016), a "creditable first novel", and Quill & Quire praised it as "the product of an amazing new talent". In addition, his novella "Tio" is in the anthology Green to Grey: An Environmental Anthology, published by Guernica Editions in 2025.
