Biography

melanie brannagan frederiksen is a writer living in Winnipeg, MB, on Treaty One Territory. She is the author of the night, the knife, the river, which will be published by At Bay Press in fall 2026. She is the poetry columnist for The Winnipeg Free Press. Her poems have been published in various print and online venues, including Grain and +doc: a journal of longer poems, and her echapbook, poseidon's cove, athena's cave was published by Model Press. She co-edited, with Ariel Gordon, the 2026 edition of Writes of Spring, an annual National Poetry Month feature for Manitoba poets.
