Michael Dean is a writer living in Toronto. He has been a performance artist and sound poet, having performed across Canada and in Europe. He is one of the founding editors of the writers’ press Underwhich Editions, and was a guest-lecturer at the University of Toronto from 1996 to 2008, to students in courses on postmodernism and post-structural linguistic theory in which his two novels, In Search of the Perfect Lawn and The Walled Garden, were taught. His recent fiction has appeared in The Mercury Press and Teksteditions anthologies, The Closets of Time and Permission To Speak, respectively. His novels In Search of the Perfect Lawn and The Walled Garden, originally published by Black Moss Press, are due to be re-issued soon by Teksteditions
