Michael was born and raised in Surrey, BC. He completed degrees in psychology and teaching at Simon Fraser University. He now lives in Montréal with his wife and two daughters. He has published in The Nashwaak Review, Grain Magazine, Blank Spaces, Just Words, Literally Stories, QWERTY, Canadian Shorts II, Miracle Monocle, The Impressment Gang and Riddle Fence. He was a 2020 Quebec Writer’s Federation mentorship recipient, mentored by Robert Edison Sandiford. He was awarded Honourable Mention in the 2025 Riddle Fence Fiction Contest for The Questions Run. His short story collection, Driving Crazy to the Front Door is forthcoming with Linda Leith Publishing (Fall 2026).
