Miguel A. Fenrich
BIO
Biography

Miguel Fenrich (he/him) is an award-winning Queer, Black journalist, writer, and professional artist/storyteller living and playing on Treaty 6 Territory in Saskatoon. As a Truthteller and Future Historian, his work is rooted in joy, connection, and community care through an anti-racist/decolonial lens.

He is the author of Blue: a Novel and What Lies in the Valley. He is the President of the Saskatchewan Writers’ Guild and a member of the Writers' Union of Canada. His work has been published with CBC Saskatchewan, SaskToday.ca, and ARTS Saskatchewan and on stages across the province, and he's the Owner of House of Fenrich Consulting.

He is two-time Arts of Celebration recognized artist,  a 2026 CBC Saskatchewan Future 40 Winner, is a recipient of the 2025 Tony & Herb Rainbow Award through the Saskatchewan Foundation for the Arts, and a Sage Hill alumni and John V. Hicks scholarship recipient. 

He is a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal + is working on his third novel with support from SK Arts.
