
Monica Kidd is the author of seven books of poetry, fiction and non-fiction. She grew up in rural Alberta, then studied ecology and zoology at the University of Calgary. She followed with a MSc in evolutionary biology at Queen's University. After two summers of working as a seabird biologist on the coast of Labrador, she moved to Newfoundland where she worked as a reporter for CBC Radio for several years before heading back to school to do medicine. She is currently a family doctor in Calgary, where she lives and writes with her husband and three kids. From 2018-202, she was Acquisitions Manager at Pedlar Press.
