
Natalie Southworth’s story collection, "There's Always More to Say," is forthcoming Winter 2026 with Linda Leith Publishing. Her short stories have appeared in literary journals in Canada, the US, and the UK. They have won The Brighton Prize, placed third in the Moth Short Story Prize and were finalists, or runners up, for The Fish Prize, The New Quarterly’s Peter Hinchcliffe Award, and Prairie Fire’s McNally Robinson Booksellers Short Fiction Contest. Her work has also appeared in The North American Review, The Brooklyn Review, Canadian Notes & Queries, Grain Magazine, Riddle Fence and more. Her writing has received support from the Canada Council for the Arts and the Sage Hill Summer Writing Program.
She is originally from England and holds a philosophy degree from the University of Toronto, a graduate degree in journalism from Toronto Metropolitan University, and an MFA in creative writing from the University of British Columbia. She worked for several years as a journalist with The Globe and Mail before settling in Montreal with her husband and children, where she works in environmental communications.
