Nate Nate Nainers
BIO
Biography

Nate Nate Nainers (they/she) is an award-winning storyteller, poet, and performance artist whose work advocates for neurodivergence, queerness, addiction recover, and communities of care.

Their upcoming collection of poems, Smokin' Holy Spirits (Galleon Books, Fall 2026), will be adapted for a solo stage show with choral accompaniment, and performed by Nainers.

In 2025 they wrote and produced a 40 minute solo storytelling show which they performed at North Vancouver Arts' Arts in the Garden.

In 2024 they placed 3rd at the Vancouver Story Slam Championship at the Vogue Theatre, in front of 830 voting audience members.

Also in 2024, they completed a 12 month mentorship under Kevin Spenst which was funded by the Canada Council for the Arts.

Nainers engages their community by helping organize festivals, events, and initiatives (past and present) such as Parade of Lost Souls, Wizard Walks YVR, Whoa Whoa Hey Now Cabaret, Myths and Such Storytelling Show, The League of Fuddy Duddies with Silly Hats, and the DIY soup kitchen Food Not Bombs YVR.
