Peter Edwards

Biography

Peter Edwards is the organized crime reporter for The Toronto Star and the bestselling author of seventeen non-fiction books and one young adult novel. His books have been published in four languages. Edwards is a member of Top Left Entertainment, a production development company, and was an executive producer for the City TV/ Netflix series Bad Blood, created by New Metric Media. The series drew excellent reviews, including one from Snoop Dogg, when he said, "That's some good shit... That stuff is hard." Edwards was awarded an eagle feather from the Anishinabek Nation/ Union of Ontario Indians. He was also honoured by Amnesty International and Centre for Human Rights. His book One Dead Indian was also a national bestseller that was made into the Gemini Award-winning movie One Dead Indian by Sienna Films. He worked with fellow journalist Harold Levy in extensive coverage of the death of Indigenous activist Anthony (Dudley) George. His books have been published in four languages. He has been interviewed on the BBC, CBC, CTV and the History Channel and spoken at a number of universities, including McGill and Carleton. Delusion, the true story of a Victorian super spy, is on the CIA's recommended reading list for staff and agents. Liam Clark of The Sunday Times, called it "history that is as well paced as a novel, despite its depth of research... A real page turner of a book." The Irish Times called it "a masterclass of how to make history relevant and engaging to a modern audience." Edwards is represented by Juliet Forrester of Top Left Entertainment.
