Qurat Dar is the author of Non-Prophet (icehouse poetry 2025), winner of the inaugural Claire Harris Poetry Prize. She was the City of Mississauga’s Youth Poet Laureate from 2021-2023 and the 2020 Canadian Individual Poetry Slam National Champion. Qurat was also a recipient of the Mississauga Arts Council’s Emerging Literary Arts Award, the Ron Lenyk Inspiring Youth Arts Award, and a Best of the Net finalist. Their poems have appeared in EVENT, Arc Poetry Magazine, and Room Magazine, as well as in the Art Gallery of Mississauga and across the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) network. Qurat has shared her words across the country on stages like The Moth, Hillside Festival, and the Ontario Summer Games.
