RG Morse is an author, publisher, artist, and broadcaster.
Morse left academia in the mid-1970s to launch a career in publishing and writing. He went on to found several successful publishing companies, including Reidmore Books, the Indigenous Learning Company, and Oz New Media, the latter one of the world's first web-based publishers. He served as President of the Book Publishers Association of Alberta, and sat on the national council of the Association of Canadian Publishers. Morse has worked with many other writers, as both publisher and editor, including Myrna Kostash, Irving Layton, Tom Wolfe, and Graham Greene. He is the author of five books, and is a recipient of the Friends of Canadian Broadcasting's Dalton Camp Award for his writing on media and democracy,
Morse is also a gallery-represented artist and broadcaster. His long-running public radio show, Radio Free Kaslo, has been nominated for a Canadian Community Radio Award for best News Magazine. Morse and his wife, JJ, live in Kaslo, a tiny, remote village on the shores of fjord-like Kootenay Lake in southeastern British Columbia, where he is currently working on several novels while attempting — without much success — to stay out of trouble.
Drawing on an adventurous, creative life, Morse describes the transformative power of creativity, and how drawing upon it can change our lives — for the better.
The focus is on helping participants develop and refine their writing skills, through a series of exercises and examples.
Tailored to the age group, the emphasis is on daring to be creative, and the importance of being able to effectively communicate.
