Ron Brown
BIO
Biography

Author, geographer, and photographer, Ron Brown has, since 1963, photographed and written on Canada's vanishing historic landscapes--telling the story of Canada through its ghost towns and railway relics. His research on railway stations takes his readers back to when trains were the life-line for small town Canada. His travel pieces have been published in The Toronto Star, The Globe and Mail, and the Canadian Geographic Magazine. He is frequently consulted by film companies seeking unusual movie locations in Ontario. Ron lectures on, and leads tours to ghost towns and heritage landscapes across Ontario, and is a regular contributor to CBC Radio and TV Ontario. His books have appeared on the Toronto Star's top 10 non-fiction list. In 2015 he received the TWUC Freedom to Read Award.
