Shanon Sinn is the author of The Haunting of Vancouver Island and several shorter works of fiction and nonfiction. He is also the editor and publisher of Black Cat - a collection of eerie tales set in BC's Pacific Northwest. His writing and illustrations often focus on ghost lore, as well as the supernatural in history and pop culture.
Shanon has Comics and Graphic Novels certificate from Camosun College in Victoria, BC, and a writing degree from Vancouver Island University where he received the Barry Broadfoot Award for Journalism and the Gisele Merlet Writing Award. His study focus at VIU was on Indigenous topics, which included Elder teachings and attending field school at the University of Fairbanks in Alaska where he was taught protocol for recording oral stories.
He lives with chronic, non-visible disabilities including pervasive nerve damage.
