Sharon Singer is an independent scholar, researcher, and multi-disciplinary artist with a strong focus on creating awareness of historical injustices. Throughout her career, in roles as a journalist, lecturer, and editor, she has been a powerful positive force, contributing to a variety of literary and cultural projects. Her diverse body of work spans several published collections of poetry, acclaimed spoken word CDs, short stories, and the libretto for a Canadian opera. Whether through non-fiction, poetry, performance, or lectures, she strives to create works that resonate with diverse audiences, while provoking reflection and dialogue.
Her academic foundation stems from an Honours BA in English Literature from the University of Toronto, complemented by media studies in New York and London, England, where she honed her passion for writing as a means to address social and historical issues.
Her current non-fiction work in progress, is an exposé of historical myths and the ongoing harms they perpetuate in our present day.
