Presentation Description
Presentation description

Similar to my book, Sports Superstars from Black History, my presentation explores the background and professional careers of prominent Black athletes. While the book's focus is on American athletes, I've adapted the presentation to include both African-American athletes as well as Black Canadian athletes from the past and present who’ve made an impact on Black history, society, and the world.

The presentation explores the courage, dedication, and willpower athletes must possess to not only follow their dreams but to overcome barriers to their success. It is meant to inspire and educate all children, from sports lovers to young achievers. Some Canadian athletes I discuss during the presentation include Willie O'Ree, Angela James, and Andre DeGrasse. And some American athletes include Simone Biles, Althea Gibson, and Jackie Robinson.
