
Tom Mengel has recently (March 1, 2023) retired from his position as leadership professor at the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton. He is a historian, futurist, and a writer. He journeys between and beyond times and spaces. Originally from Germany, he has published both in German and in English. After completing his academic degrees in theology, education, history, and computer science, he has successfully completed a non-credit specialization consisting of five courses in Creative Writing through Coursera at Wesleyan University. Most of his published writing to date is academic and non-fiction. In addition, he has published some poetry and creative non-fiction. Two novels in the making have received honourable rejections as have his dozen or so short stories. Thomas is proud to have been shortlisted by Word Feast, Fredericton, NB, for his submission “Broken Record” to the 2019 Postcard Story Contest. His creative writing focuses on Science Fiction, Auto Fiction, and historical narratives.
